I have a 95 Katana 750 and there is a crack in the starter cover which leaks oil. Will a starter cover from a 98+ fit on a pre-98? I'm looking for a used one and see some for 1998-2006 years. They look similar from pictures but don't want to take a chance.

You can also use a starter cover from a pre 98 gsxr 750 - just avoid the later water cooled models. After replacement it's a good idea to install framesliders so if it gets dropped it won't crack - again. Poor design puts too much stress on a weak aluminum cover.when the bike falls over on a hard surface on the left.
