  • Cutting Side stand Part 2

So finally got my arse moving and tried to remove the stand from the frame. Two bolts hold this thing on, got the first one off with alot of effort, the threads had a small amount of green material,(locktite?), the second bolt she no budge. Slapped a cheater bar on my ratchet and got the bolt to move and made a sound like it cracked free. This bolt never got any easier to turn, still had to use the cheater bar, and the bolt wasn't coming out. I tried to reverse direction and it felt like it was fully tight and it wouldn't budge. Any suggestions?

OK some might not believe this but........ pour Tabasco sauce on the bolt to break it free. I know, I know, sounds wierd but I've seen it work even when WD-40 wouldn't.
I don't need a girlfriend... Windows goes down on me everyday!

Doesn't the bolt have a nut on the back side of it?

The bolt your're turning has a nut on the back Check that out..

PS: there should only be one bolt holding the side stand on...

I've removed, cut and welded my wifes side stand.. Let me know if you need more help.

          Thanks,
          Chris

No, it bolts directly to the frame.

            Thanks for the Tabasco suggestion.

              umm are we talking centerstand??
That has two screws I think..
I've removed my side stand many times..
Remove the nut, on the back, out the screw comes..
What "first screw" did you remove?

Guess I should have mentioned this is for the Honda F4i. The centerstand had already been removed. I was unable to get a wrench on the bolt that acts as the pivot for the sidestand, hence I was trying to remove the entire unit by unbolting it from the frame.

Yeah, that would have been a good little bit of information to have. :
