I'm replacing the 8 the head cover bolts and those little rubber wahers/gaskets, whatever they are, and I'm wondering if I should just let them sit there, or put a little bit of silicone between the washer and the head cover?

The book says to coat the washers with clean engine oil for the 4 banjo bolts down the center, so I went ahead and did that for the 8 rubber washer thingies too. Although, the book doesn't say to do anything with them, so I would imagine you could leave them be just as well - but, it's probably a good idea to at least clean off any sand, grit, etc. Some of mine were pretty gritty..."Pleasant experiences make life enjoyable, painful experiences lead to growth" - cheap Chinese fortune cookie

hmm, thanks for the info on the banjo bolts/washers, I got new ones of those too.
The 8 rubber washers I got already appear to have some kind of oily coating to them, so I'm thinking the silicone wont even stick to that, so I guess they'll be ok with no further prepping.Florida, the only place where you need your windshield wipers and sunglasses. At the same time.
