    CyberPoet help!
I've got a -1 sprocket in front with a stock rear sprocket and stock chain. I want to change the rear sprocket to a +3. My question is, what size chain will I need?

    Does anyone know?

Thebest one to ge would be a 530x120. The 120 is the number of Links. I had -1 in the front and up 2 in the rear on my bike at one time. By going with the 120 link chain you have enough just in case. If you go with the 118 link chain you may not have enough links to put the chain together. So go with a 530x120 in a D.I.D or a RK, or what ever brand you would like.

Oh one more thing, is there a good (and by "good" I mean cheap) place to buy chains and sprockets?

the stock should work. my buddy has a stock front with a 50 rear. and the stock chain. it works fine, juts a little snug. so if you're on a tight budget, my experience say's "no, you don't NEED it"
if its got 2 wheels or a skirt....i'll ride it.

Has anyone else used the stock size chain with a -1 sprocket in front and a +3 in the rear?

Well , you can always remove links if your chain is too big ...
