    hello to all
    i bought a 96 katana gsx 600 in late nov-2004 needed fairing work+t.l.c
    i finally took it for a spin today first time driving the bike and i notice that at
    6000rpm i'm doing 70mph is this right.???? i check the rear chain sprocket
    seems stock.is there a number stamp some where if so what should the number be for stock?? thanks

      ok i clean the rear sprocket and it has 45-530 stamp on it
      is this stock??

        That seems to be pretty close to right. You will run in the higher rpms with a 600, my 2000 runs somewhere in there at 70. I would have to get my book out on the sprocket.

            That is stock for your bike. And the RPM range seems pretty close.

            You will see somewhere around a 10% lower indicated speed on your speedo than actual. Some people see less, some more. Mine happens to be really close to 10%, and it is linear across the range of the speedo.

                oh i love it, i test drove until my fingers were numb cause the gloves
                i had were cheese. oh and the temp outside was 26 degrees
