  • Lost manual, whats the oil capacity?

I need some help. I bought my bike used and the last owner lost the manual.

Can anyone tell me how many quarts of oil should I buy for my 2002 Kat 600 for the oil change???

Also whats a good oil filter or are they all the same??

      From the service manual

      Oil Change 3.3L (3.5/2.9 US/Imp qt)
Oil and filter change 3.5L (3.7/3.1 US/Imp qt)
      Engine overhaul 4.7L (5.0/4.1 US/Imp qt)

The manual says a hair under 4 liters. I somehow always end up using about 4-1/3 to 4-1/2 whenever I change my oil & filter, to get back to the full mark. 10w40 JASO-MA rated motor oil will serve you the best. Suzuki filters (made by Toyo-Roki for Suzuki) are the best I've found in terms of how well they clean and are built (avoid FRAM at all costs in oil-air cooled engines).
