Not a big problem the jbweld if you can get the gas
out of the carbs. jbweld is just epoxy thus it has a low
melting point ,ues a heat gun that can put out 300 Fh,

make sure the carbs are bone dry befor doing this !!
another option would be a small butane torch.

my 97 600 motor ran great with the 2001 750 carbs
and with the 97 cdi no problem ,no tps.

    i later installed a wire harnes from a 2003 600 +cdi
to finnish the conversion ( now a 98+ body ).

now i have a set of 97 600 carbs to trash
    Have fun..

Yeah, jbweld can come off, but the bowls are cracked at the drains, so I don't want to take it off. Just need to someday replace the bowls. I have already stripped down the carbs and cleaned / rebuilt them. It will just be annoying in the future not being able to drain them.
