  • Draining the carburetors

How do I get to the carburetors and drain them for winter storage? Any picutures would be helpful. Thanks.

There are drain screws under the carb bowls. Put a container under the bowl, then loosen the drain screw.

Um, look inside the cutout. You'll see the carbs sitting there. I think it's an M5 allen.

There's a service manual in the wiki.

Probably easier would be to add some stabil to a full tank, take her for a 15 minute ride (to ensure the bowls have stabilized fuel), and then just remove the vacuum line from the petcock (fuel won't flow) and run her dry. When ready to re-animate her, reconnect the vacuum line, place on prime for 30 seconds, and fire her up!

Would that get all the fuel out of the float bowels?
