  • Help on broken sprocket cover 2006 GSX 750F

Chain came off and busted sprocket case.I removed the case it sheared one of the screws. It also tore the tabs loose that hold the plastic piece. My plan is to remove sprocket to get chain out, replace chain, cover and sprocket if needed.Any problem just rewelding the tabs that held the guard. It looks like the broken bolt would not be an issue.Once together would it be easier to take it to shop to make sure everything is right or can it be done by an inexpieranced perso like myself. Also any help on best place to order parts would be great

Welcome.... Pics would help a lot.. it might be easier to find a new cover, welding shops can charge a good amount for a minimum.. I hope your replacing the chain and sprockets as a unit....

Finally got the sprocket off. Chain was jammed up tight.I am replacing sprocket and chain.Parts waiting on me in morning.Still confused on the push rod since it is broke. Is the seal the piece behind the plate with the tabbed screws and how to get seal out.Is there a way to remove back tire without a motorcycle jack. Thanks,I am new to this and figured I might as well try to fix it myself with others knowledge.

i had the same thing happen.. the seal is pretty easy to get out.. i used a magnet to get what was left of the rod out and used a small screw driver to pull the seal.. the seal is pretty common it fits kats, tl's, sv's and gsxr up thru 07 if i remember correctly, so getting one should be pretty easy. The rod is most likely an order part..

As for the back tire... I take it you don't have a center stand... if you don't you will need some sort of jack...
