  • can i buy an extended swingarm or have to make one

i am new to this site and new to the katana and i was wandering if there was a website that i could buy an extended swingarm from i want about a 6" stretch. i have seen on there that alot of people say not to do this because we do not really benefit from it but i am just simply doing it because of the looks. so if anyone could tell me if and where i can buy one that would be great. thanks

If you want to do it the cheap way, yes it's good.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

i had mine extended 7" or so, i love it, true i dont turn as fast as others but i still like it alot

                you will need:

extended brake arm to support the caliper
                new/longer chain
                possible and recommended sprockets
                longer brake line
and of course the swing arm extended

i rolled around the thought of going back to stock but i really like the look.

A quick rough estimate... Because if your gonna extend, you will regret not putting a wider rim in there as well...

                      $200 for swingarm extensions/modded swinger
                      $200 for rim
                      $200 for tire
$150 in various pieces (axle, spacers, bearings, etc...)
                      $200 chain and sprocket
                      $100 brake line

Aproximate cost = $1050.00 for the basic setup. Possibly more if you want to repaint everything to match.

I would go w/ Kreylyns if I were u. Thats what I'm going to do When the money's good. The thompson cycle kit is way to expensive.

+1 on doing a wider wheel, i wish i had.

but my brake line wasnt $100 but Tmod would be a great candidate for upgrading the rear shock.

extended swing arm has more leverage over the spring/shock making it soft.

You could just sell your bike and buy mine....save some trouble lol
