I have a spare Orange/red wire that I am thinking is part of the problem. After looking for many hours at the two wiring diagrams (Busa and Katana) I am still at a loss.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
That wire has to be wired together with the other Orange/Red wire. I had to do that on the post to pre.

Ok, so I am stummped big time on this wiring issue. Here is low down of my issue:
        • Everything on both handle bar controls works, i.e. hazard switch, high beam, horn, flashers, pass button, kill switch, clutch switch, and starter button.
        • Ignition works fine, it is the Haybusa ignition wired up to the Kat harness.
        • What doesn't work is the low beam headlight, i.e. it doesn't not turn on when the ignition is turned on.
        • I have checked and recheck, and replaced the bulb so it is not that.
        • I have checked the headlight plug and there is no power coming to the low beam terminal.
        • I have looked and examined both wiring diagrams for the Busa and Kat but haven't figured out the problem.
So I think the issue is with the O/R and Y/W wires and them not matching up correctly. I get 12V coming in from the harness on the O/R wire (changes to Y/W at the plug, ref picture). I have included a few pics of the plug both from teh harness side and the handle bar side.

If anybody can help me it would be appreciated. I am about to go crazy as to why only the low beam doesn't work.

        Thanks,

        Brad

Well I got things figured out on my own and it's awesome to have the Busa controls on the Kat.

I finished up the swap today and took it out for a ride. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Why I didn't do this swap earlier is beyond me. I love it and wouldn't change it for the world now.

To anybody that wants to do this swap I highly suggest it, it's not hard to do and makes a huge difference in the way the bike handles as well as it's looks.

          Cheers,

Yes Bro it works well on the 2000, you won't have to change gauges either. That is what I like about this swap on a post Katana/GSXF!

What would be the dimensions for the upper bearing if it were ball instead of taper?

For the pre to busa setup-The pre has a upper bearing of 25x47x15 and the busa is 30x55x17. The inner race of a roller bearing would have to be a inner diameter of 30 with a outer diameter of 47 but you will need the 15 height. to put it easy, a 30x47x15mm

Allballs racing has a 25x47x12 conversion bearing that comes with a washer to make up the difference. Thats what I used in my gsxr1000 fork swap. Its about the same price as the one that everyone suggests on here, but since I bought my other bearings and stuff from them, I just got that one too.

Went to order this bearing today from TWF. They are telling me the bearing they have is 30x47x13 instead of the 30x47x15 this thread calls for. Did they change the bearing or is that indeed the one I need. Thanks
