  • Pre 750 custom swingarms...

Is there anyone who sells a wider swingarm for a pre that will fit a 180 or 190 GSXR wheel? I saw Kreylyn's pictoral on modding the swingarm but I don't have access to the tools nor have the time to do it. I was also curious if anyone knows if it might be possible to swap a GSXR swingarm onto a pre instead?

Swapping the swingarm would be significantly more work, as you would need to modify the swingarm pivot width, custom made dogbones and links, issues with finding a shock that will work right with the custom made stuff, arm would be wider sooner than the stock kat modified arms, so you would need to mod the sub frame for sure... Shim the pivot bolt... and lots of other things I'm sure I'm forgetting at the moment.

I looked at doing that first, and was able to quickly determine it was not near worth the work.

I actually have another swingarm and brake arm I just finished all set to go as a duplicate for the mod I did on my bike. All that would be needed is custom spacers made for it as is to fit what ever wheel up to 6" you wanted.

I was looking to getting the slots widened to fit the 20mm axel to use the stock GSXR spacers and axle, brake caliper bracket, and a heavier duty chain adjuster to make things easier for other swaps so that nothing else needed to be custom made but the swinger and brake arm. Get those 2, and then just pick up a complete GSXR wheel, axle, and brake bracket (still using katana caliper).

I've been asked by a few people to make them one, and that is possible soon, but before I put one out there for any other bike I'm not riding, I wanna make sure it's right, and can be assembled almost idiot proof. No offense to any idiots out there...
