  • Muffler Clamp

Does anyone know where I can find a good band style muffler clamp? I tried Midas, AutoZone, Pep Boys, and looked around the internet a little with no real luck. The clamp I am looking for is one that connects the midpipe to the header. Anyone have one of these laying around?

The clamp that's part of the header, right?

Suzuki says it's part of the header.

I it is part of the header. Get a heavy duty automotive hose clamp..you can even get two of 'em. Just make sure the screws are on opposite ends to give you even clamping pressure.

I think I'm going to sound lke an idiot. But I think I'm looking for the same thing you are. I recently needed to replace the clamp that connects the midpipe to the header on my r6. I picked up a clamp from O'reilly's but its not the kind I want. I have no idea what the one I want is called but I'm sure its what you are talking about. Don't suppose you have a picture?

LOL.. thats funny. Yes, I am in need of the clamp that bolt #5 goes into. The part that isn't numbered. I thought this should be something easy to pick up locally.

when i got my second scorpion slipon, it had 2 clamps but both the same size. of coarse they were the small and i needed the larger. Fastenal is where you want to head to. for Scorpion this is basically the same one they sent (couldnt remember the exact part # and I know this is not it). I went to the local store and ordered it. $3 and change and an exact duplicate of the other side. If you want I can get you the correct part #. http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...0427773&ucst=t

I can't see a picture of it, but I will take your word. If you could get the correct part number that would be great

Edit- I can't tell if the one in the link is the one, or if you were just including the link as an example..

My rough measurement and math says the diameter is 2 3/8". Sound right?

                      clamp

ok, heres what i have. what came with the Scorpion....the one to fit over the can is a Mikalot Supra W2 SS 51-55. When I did more research i found they used the mm range as the part #. heres what it looks like

so now if you convert to SAE since thats how fastenal sells them, we get the 51-55 as 2.0078-2.1563. so with that i called fastenal and ordered http://www.fastenal.com/web/products...0427812&ucst=t
im 99% sure thats the size i ordered and it fit perfect.

you need the stock clamp? I thought they were tack welded to the header.
