  • Wider rear tire on 04' kat 600

I am replacing the tires on my kat. I am currently running a 170/60-17 but I have found better deals on a 180/55-17. Would I have any issues running a 180 on the rear? I am running the stock wheels.

there's a good chance you'll have problems. the 180, and even the 170 is above recommended widths for stock rims. the rims aren't wide enough to support tires that wide, and as such, will slightly deform the tires profile and shape to make it fit. i'd recommended going to a 160/60

Yep, check Cyberpoets very informative threads on Kat tire sizes. They were designed with 150 wide for a reason.

160/60 will actually look better than the 180, because of the deformation of the 180 on the narrow wheel. And, it is MUCH safer to run the 160 than the 180.
