  • Trans Detent Spring KIt.....

    Is anyone familiar with the Trans Detent Spring Kit from Factory Pro?!Does anyone have this on their bike?If so,how difficult is the install?Does it make a noticeable difference?!Any feedback is great!!

    I have it, love it. I took the hard approach and followed what the instructions said, which is, remove the cir-clip, and remove the arm altogether. The only problem with that is that the circlip is non reusable. I remember reading on here some where, that you can use dental tools or something like that to remove the spring with the arm in place. Huge difference in shift quality, no miss shifts.

      yeah, that's on the dream project, along with everything Factory Pro makes. I bought it from CP.

        I have one on mine 06 750 and it works fine, I had read somewhere that the 03+ kats had a stiffer spring already. But the Factory Pro was even stiffer than the one I took off.

              Just be careful when re-installing the oil pan. 3 of my bolts stripped/snapped for no apparent reason (yes, even w/ a torque wrench).

                I used an old flat head screw driver that I cut a "v" into the tip to hold the spring to push it back into place. I don't know about any dental tools working, but I wouldn't want to go to any dentist with tools strong enough for what that spring would require.
