  • Scorpion Round vs. Oval?

I have been reading up on some slip ons for my 2005 Kat 750. I'm pretty sure i want to get a scorpion but whats the difference between the Round canister and the Oval canister? I know the oval is a little more expensive but why is that?

Also where can i look to possibly get a Vance and Hines slip on? i can't find it anywhere for an 05

Its just the shape. Round is obviously round and oval is obviously oval. I guess if your going to go drag a knee and want something closer to your bike get the oval...

I have the round one and it does just fine.

if you get a slip on you will never need to rejet.... rejet is only for full systems....

You MIGHT have to tune your AF idle screw, but thats it.

Its because you really arent changing the flow w/ a slip on.

The big change is when you change your headers. Your changing flow and back pressure so you need more fuel to compensate.

Let me know how the scorpion sounds. All the youtube clips I could find made it sound like an ATV exaust. I just got my Yosh installed 2 days ago and I am in love with it. Nice and deep and not too loud at low speeds.

i am still debating on either Scorpion, Vance and Hines or Yoshimura. They're all generally in the same price range, Upper $200's. I heard the scorpion is a b**** to get on tho

I asked my brother the same question and he had said that the oval give a slightly deeper sound. I'm not sure if it is correct or not. So if someone can confirm or disprove that would help me out as well.

not bad. Its a can a bracket and a midpipe, its not welded like the yosh so you have to put it together then put it on the bike and align everything while its loose... something even a slightly less competent person could do. Youll be fine.

I look at it this way...

You can get one from parts 411 for like 270 now (got mine for 230) so its an affordable piece.

                            Lifetime warentee
                            Stainless guarenteed for life
never needs to be repacked unlike 99% of cans out there
If you wreck and its damaged you can return it for a 50% credit to a new one
and it sounds AMAZING imho... videos dont do it justice. Its real low and throaty at low rpm, and motoGP screaming RAAARRRRRRR up in high rpm.

                            hahah

                            Id recommend it to anyone.

Love my Oval Scorpion... It is lighter and smaller width than the Round one.
You can not get enough of it's deep GROWL....
Here are some pics of the narrow size.
