Stock exhaust header porting/polishing

Has anybody done this? I was thinking about trying it. A little less money then the whole Yoshi exhaust. If I do, would a stage one jet kit work? I have a 2006 600.

2006 Kat 600 (My "cruiser"), 2008 R6 ("Play bike"). Love em both.
