  • Painting windscreen

Has anyone painted the inside of their windscreen black?

It would be easy and cheap$

Not like I actually look through it anyway.

The paint would stay out of the elements and the outside would stay shiny.

    Has anyone tried it?

            Thanks for the info sportrider.

I was actually thinking of the same yellow as the bike, but black would be a second choice.

I guess you guys are right.

For 50 bucks, it isn't worth the effort.

I've seen several people who have done that , and for the cost of a can of paint and a little time , it DOES in fact seem worth it . But I bought a tinted screen .

That looks great. Didn't you use a number of very lights coats to keep it from running?

yea, as recommended on the can (DUH!) ha ha ha

                          yea, first coat, VERY LIGHT
                          second coat, somewhat light
                          and every coat after, light
                          light light light

runs suck. but thankfully you cant see them from the outside

Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' bout!

Did you need to roughen the surface before painting? I would think not, but ya never know.

Now, does krylon make a yellow fusion that matches the Kat?

                            Hmmm....

no need to roughen the surface at all. Krylon Fusion is supposed to bond to plastics without any primer or sanding, just make sure it's clean before painting. Hanging it up would probably work better than putting it on the floor like I did too.

Krylon Fusion comes in a few colours, dont know if the yellow would match the kat yellow though. My bike's black so it's a pretty easy choice
