  • Polishing my Forks

Okay, I know one of the red boys has done it. I would like to know the best way to polish the front forks. I was looking at a pic of my Kat and decided it should be done.

I have not polished anything yet. So help is appreciated.

Well worth the effort. It certainly helps to have one of these front stands to make the whole front end removeable ie. the forks.

I removed them and did it all on my benchgrinder. Started with a 320 grit sanding flapper wheel. Next straight to the cotton polishing wheels using the black/brown/red compounds in that order and using separate wheels.

Thanks Beek! I don't have a bench grinder. That would make it a lot easier. Perhaps I need to buy one...

No, just a dull brushed aluminum finish, probably with clearcoat over that.

Oh ok Beek. Mine has some kind or gray paint on them I think. I might just balck them out. I think that would look good with what I have going.
