  • Weird alignment problems

    Hi people,

I was putting all my fairings on the bike precisely to confirm that everything was fitting right before finishing the fairing fixes... they don't fit...

Well, it happens that I have a major misalignment problem at the front. Just to make you all aware, I had a front collision and I ended replacing almost all my front (complete forks, fender, headlight bracket, headlight, instrument panel and main fairings)

When assembling the headlight bracket, headlight and instrument cluster everything aligned perfectly... so this comes up very surprisingly that my fairings don't align with those pieces...

Attached some pictures of how the headlight bracket is almost an inch lower than the fairings, which are bolted to their respective frame installation points...

What can be the cause of the misalignment? Bracket? Fairings? Bracket bolted right into the three bolting points in the frame and I don't think itīs possible for the actual bolting points to be out due to the crash... The bracket itself seems straight and I have played a little with it and there's no way of making things align right...

Any idea is welcome!! I'm eager to have my Kat on the streets!

    Regards,

I would assume the headlight bracket assembly is bent, somewhere.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can loosen the three bolts on the bracket and adjust the height of it.

Well, I he-maned the headlight bracket, almost lifting the whole bike from it and leveraging it and hoping not to break it...

        Guess what?

I managed to align it enough

So, one point for Scout , none for Wicked

        Thanks both for the feedback.

The part that was out (or the one that gave up) was the one for the center mounting point... When lying on the floor it was almost touching it, now it sits almost one inch from the floor... (note: it's almost parallel to the floor)

So things look good to go... Thanks folks!!

            Yup, that's pretty common.
