Chrome or silver/polished. Black makes the wheels look bulky if you like that look.

I think if you keep the stock ones nice and clean, they look very good as-is. Wiping them down with a water-rinsable bio-friendly degreaser when dirty will keep them looking factory new for years (I use SludgeAway, same stuff I use to clean the chain -- apply to rag, wipe wheel, rinse).

Otherwise seriously consider a gunmetal or road-gray, to cover dirt and grime, so the bike looks cleaner longer. Just my 2 cents.

              Cheers

Red inner rim and polished outer is a good look.

You should just paint the whole bike Blue!! That is the only thing that needs to be done

white would look cool, but would be a biatch to keep clean.

Ok, if your going to spend the money to Chrome them, you might want to look into getting them anodized. That would be cool.
