    Hi everyone.

I just picked up a brand spankin' new 04 Katana 600 (blue and white). Over the winter I want to build up a stock pile of goodies so I can have it all ready to go for the spring. I want to do mostly cosmetic bolt on stuff (screen, signals etc..) and was wondering if anyone in the GTA knows of any good places to go.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks very much guys. Thats more info then I could have imagined. Is most of this stuff pretty easy to install (except the engine mods). Any help would be great.

        p.s. the cluster looks nice

yeah rockadous hit the majority of em ! braada cowls rock !

kats are generally easy to work on..trust me, im not much of a wrench head by nature, but even the things i've done to mine and are looking to do over the winter are relatively easy. grips, windscreen, cowl, pegs, ignition advancer, etc. you can do on ur own or with alittle help from a friend. the worst part is taking off the 50,000 allen bolts that hold on the plastic !!

u gotta do the mesh mod as well for ur kat, many of us in here have it, and it really sets off the bike.

good luck and glad to have you onboard!!

Whats so bad about the factory tires on a kat? Any suggestion for an upgrade because the last thing I want is to be rolling on crappy rubber.

I don't know about those Braada Cowls, I heard they are pretty bad, they cause to much wind resistance, wich cuts your HP by at least 7. That and I hear that guy the runs the company is a real bad ass. Man, I hope he never signs up to this site!!!!

Ok, All the above was a joke, for the newbies out there, just had to give Jim a hard time because he has not yet sent me the cake recipie yet!!!!!

the Michelin Macadam tires are very HARD and do not grip very well...they are designed to last long for non-agressive riders.

They have terrible wet weather abilities and they also tend to feather on the front causing vibrations.

If you never rode anything else, you would think they are fine....but everyone who gets replacement rubber cannot believe the difference that it makes. Ride around untill you get comfortable, and I suggest you replace it before any mod. If you don't use them much..you can get a few bucks for them on e-bay maybe

try riding the bike hard for a few minutes...stop and feel the rubber...it should be really warm, and the rubber should be a little soft
