How to paint a can?

Hey guys, I just recently re-did my pipes with some high temp exhaust paint, but tried to leave the can clean. The previous owner somehow painted half the can green, and I either want to make it all chrome (original color) or all green. Im leaning towards green. I know they get super hot, so how do I paint it?
