  • Fairing repair

I have a 99 kat and the plastic piece on the back side of the fairing near the shocks, the screws are either missing or they are stripped out. what is the best way to fix this. I dont want the piece to come off on a ride.

Find a bolt and nut of the appropriate size to secure. Or, first thing, make sure the bolt is stripped out. If it is still intact you could order a bike bolt kit for a direct replacement. Either way you go, use loc-tite on the new bolt. You might even want to apply loc-tite to all of your faring bolts after this.

I would suggest calling one of your friends...perhaps one who has a Kat (if you know one) who knows his way around bikes and the two of you could probably hit the hardware store for some new bolt similar to the OEM fairing bolts. Either that or EBay a fairing bolt kit.
