Just curious what people are using for chain guards other than the ugly stock plastic one. I've found a few universal aluminum ones on different websites, but nothing that looked very appealing. Who's using what? Carbon fiber, aluminum, chrome?

Yeah it's blue but not the same blue as the body. I still need to get more but I ran out of paint before I got that far so it's currently a shade darker Testers model paint
As for needing it. Chainguards aren't really strong enough to provide any protection against a moving chain but they do wonders for keeping oil from a freshly lubed chain from getting all over your underbody and sidewall.

Here's a pick of mine, it's just on the side so it doesn't stop the oil spray (like the other homemade one listed), but it matches nice because it has the same pattern as the side of the bike. Sorry the picture isn't very good, my camera is traveling with my wife so I just zoomed in on the full picture I have listed. The previous owner (a good friend) made it and it looks pretty good, if I ever have the chance I'll remake it so it wraps over the top. If you want let me know and I'll send you a better pic.Attached Files93' 750, I just washed the bugs off, let's go for a ride!

I bought my 99 Kat used w/o a chain guard... ironically enough my chain snapped after owning the bike about a month so it would have been toast anyhow.
When I put the new chain on I ended up with oil all over inside my fender area, grrr. Jim, if you make any 98+ chain guards that match the bodywork I'd buy one.
I don't really like huggers on Katana's... not enough space for it to look right IMHO (w/ stock suspension/dogbone).I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death. - George Carlin
