  • Fairings touching exhaust pipes

As you guys may or may not know, I just recently installed a full D&D system on the bike. I love it, but my fairings touch the hot pipes in two places.

My question is what kind of tips do you all have to stop the plastic from melting/being damaged. I'm getting the bike painted soon so i don't want the new paint being damaged

Ride faster, that way there's more airflow over the pipes, which will result in them being cooled off faster.

        1. Muffler wrap. Looks cool, too.
        2. Cut back the fairing like Mreedohio said.
        3. Both 1&2. Best bet. Wrap the pipes and then cut back the fairing to make sure there's no contact. Bonus is that you also relieve any pressure causing the fairing to flex and eventually distort.

          Haha, best answer.

I think I will indeed trim them and wrap the pipe.

          Thanks.
