I did the same chop as jimpennjr, but left a little of the subframe down and drilled it to mount the turn signals. Also, I used a hacksaw and box knife to cut down the stock turn signals so they are a bunch shorter. Here are a couple of pics...

Looks really good, and from what everyone else who has recovered there seats, they say its not to hard. Also heard of people using gel inserts in the seat, not just foam for more support and comfort.
