about to paint my kat

I have already sanded down the bike and i have also primed it but am unsure if i should sand down the primer with a 400 grit or a 600 grit before i start to paint the bike. I am using an air compressor and Dupont paint so any suggestions would be great. I also bought 1000grit and 1600 grit. Please help I ready don't want to sand it all down again due to a stupid mistake.

Well, I would set-sand your primer with 400 grit, then you can also get some primer sealer, and go over it with that. You do not need to sand the primer sealer. Also, the primer sealer is not a nessesity. Good Luck!

Those higher girt papers you will use once your clear coat is set up.

Yup, but remember, wet-sand with the 400 grit.

i'd say use the 600 grit or 800 (if you have it) and use a lot of water (running water would be best). atleast that what i did! just my $.02 like what lou said, the higher grit = smoother finish. heres how mine looked like (oh, and i used "rattle can" for the whole thing)

Only sand the primer if it is a sandable primer. If it is out of a rattle can than it will eithrer be called sandable primer (duh) or filler primer.
