  • GSXR swingarm on a 06 Kat?

I have an 04 katana 600 and i was wanting to put a GSXR swing arm on it so i could put a wider rear tire on it.Is that at all possible?

its much easier to put a GSXR 750 or 1100 wheel on the rear. Just have to cut some spacers and have the time and patience.

no it's not. That won't work the rim is too wide, you'll have to modify the swingarm.

I was tossing the idea around, and I think it is easier to get your kat's swingarm widened, then add a gsxr rim. trying to fit a different swingarm seem like a waste of time. a few people have had the swingarms widened or extended.

I'm pretty sure KatanaPR3 has a gsxr swingarm on his bike.

I installed a 5.5" rim from a 95 GSXR 750. It works well, and is not too wide.

That is why I had to order the spacer from you Arsenic. I cut the one that I originally had just a tad too short.

I have a 170 installed with no problems. The rim originally came from ebay with a 180 mounted and that cleared just fine.

This mod took me a few days and quite a bit of patience, but it works well and I cannot feel any change in handling.

you just have to use 93-95 gsxr 750 or 93-98 GSXR 1100 wheels.

oh and best thing about it no swingarm modification necessary
