  • Thank you

I just want to say thank you to everyone who contributed to the plastics and frames forum. This forum was invaluable to me today, as I was working on sanding and repairing my broken fairings. The previous owner decided to repair cracked fairings by drilling holes and using zip ties. Unfortunately, he needed so many that the kat looked like it had surgical scars on both sides.

The information on this forum on plastic welding and repair helped me repair the damaged fairings, and fabricate sections of the fairing that were broken off, especially around bolt holes. Like everyone says, all it takes is a Sears 75w solering iron, some donor plastics, and a little willpower. If you know how to braize metal from metalshop in high school, you can repair MC plastics. A dremel tool was helpful too, altough you could probably use a drill and a coping saw instead.

Anyhoo, thanks again to the KR community. Later this week, I start painting.

I poured spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.
