                I let the paint cure for a 2 weeks now I'm trying to find time between exams to wetsand the orange peel out. This weekend I should have it completed!

                      I let it cure for 2 weeks so the acrylic enamel would be solid on the gas tank. I've seen enamels peel just from gas fumes with only a 5 day cure time.

                      Total cost was $250. I got half of the paint on clearance (store mislabled).

                      FYI I painted over the gas tank decal. It kinda makes it look like a ghost decal.

                          So you used the acrylic enamel not the acrylic lacquer? For the clear coat right?

                            Yes, the metalcast base and color are enamel the clear is the dupli-color professional acrylic enamel. You can't put laquer over enamel. However enamel over laquer is possible.

                                I finally showed off the bike to my dad. He painted trucks at GM and couldn't believe my paint came from a rattle can.
