  • Ordered my LED Dash Replacments -Problem!!!

So, I ordered replacement LED's from Superbright LED's. I ordered the #74 replacement bulb, and now they don't fit in the bulb housing.

If I put them in, they just sit on the top, and fall out really easy. If I PUSH them in, it spread the holder apart a bit, and then the holder (Housing) doesn't fit back into the panel!!!!

Yes, I realize the new LED's are a bit longer, but there is no clearance issue length wise.

The bulbs sit in the housing, but any bump or knock will knock them loose.

Should I order the bulb housing from SuberBright LED's as well????

yea super glue or tape around it should make it fit snug except when it gets how you may have a problem.

Hey why not replace the bulbs with bunson burners connected to a propane tank...when you want light...all you have to do is light it...:P

But seriously I agree with UFO8MyCow...buy the new bulb housing...

Lou, I used a dremel tool with the cutting wheel to take a chunk out of the housing and made it work.

Maybe a dab of Hot Glue. That way if it needs to be replaced, I can just heat it up.

I dunno, I'll Order the housing and see if those work first, I think they were pretty cheap.

I think that LED tend to draw very little power so they should not heat up. If you use hot glue you may want to mnake sure they they are softening the glue.

I had the exact same problem. I thought they might be too loose so I turned the panel upside down and bumped it against my hand and the bulbs did not fall out. I got it back together and most of the bulbs didn't work. I was told they are polarized however I know I had these bulbs in turned both ways and they still didn't work. I gave up and left in the stock bulbs. The only problem I see is that the clock lights up white. The gauges show up nice and bright blue. The leds were a waste of $20 bucks.
