ordered wrong year handlebars

I have a 2000 GSX600F Katana. The previous owner bent up the handlebars in an accident, so I ordered some new ones. I wasn't paying very much attention when I ordered them, so I accidentally ordered some that say they're for 1988-96 GSX600F Katanas. Does anyone know if they'd fit on my bike, or do I need to order the correct ones?

I know they're different , but I don't remember HOW . You can always give it as shot and let us know .

Apparently they're identical except they have the hole used to hold the controls in place in a different spot. I just drilled a new hole.
