  • Decals on tank

    Any easy way to get them off?
    Looks like they are clear coated and I want all of the decals off of the bike.
    92 Katana 600 Project bike
    Some assembly required is my middle name!!!

    umm sander paper or sand blaster????

      Hey Gear dog. You will have to sand it of. If not just repaint over it. The guy that painted my did that and it looks good. Most people do not even see the S on the tank. But anyway, yes you will have to sand it to get it off. It is clear coated on because if fuel went down the sides it wouldn't eat the sticker.

            A blow torch and a 4" grinder will take them off.

              so will a can of apint remover... Takes it right down to the metal

                just planning on a rattle can paint job. But want to make it look better than a 10 foot paint job. The tank has a dent on both sides from bar sliders so I'm going to do a little work on it. I figured if I'm doing that might as well take the decals off.

                I was thinking of Le Mans Sunset (copper orange) like on the 350z.

                  well if your going to repaint just get a lil roloc die sander and go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sha-bam no more stickers!
