I got carried away with an idea I had in my head and decided to see what it might look like....so its now 4:45am and here's what i got...

I guess this would be the influence

I like the design but not the colors. Maybe black and bright silver? Are you dead set on black and that? Black and yellow, black and blue, red and black all would look nice too.

I agree with KS. I probably wouldn't do black and sliver, either, though. Black and red seem to be the colors I would go with. Also, maybe run the rays through to the tail. The all black just seems to not sit right, IMO.

I'd go for the red and silver myself, it looks good on the plaque thing there. I would just bring the central 'sun' down and more forward on the fairings, so you have stripes going more up and over the bike. It would help keep both sides symmetrical that way, since the stripes would meet on top of the tank and what-not. My $0.02

Might want to rotate things a bit so you don't have a line going down the tank and the upper cowling.

It's okay. It's a little... striped for me. I'm not as fond of stripes, but for a striped project it's pretty cool.

You're thinking about painting a rising sun japanese flag on your Japanese made Katana. That flag is from WWII and was painted all over Japanese aircraft of world war II. Before they would dive in, the pilots would scream Banzai or Tora which means attack.

You could use the negative or inverse of the colors. Red would be green and silver (white) would be black. Might be a cool look. Not what you'd expect.
