  • Any way to make headlight look better on a 95

I have the 95 600 with rectagular headlight. Is there any way to make it look sleeker or better? I thought about vinyl and making 2 round holes but I'm not sure how much it would cut down on lighting. Anyone ever done anything with this?

Aside from changing out the whole front end...uh...no...Our pre98 bikes are stuck in that style unless you do something drastic like re-weld and cut and plastic weld the fairings...a few people on the site have done this...your other option is to remove the plastics entirely and go SF style...then you can purchase a SF headlight and be done with it...

The light will shine right through the vinyl. Do it in two layers. Put black down first, then the color your using over that.

There is a member on here that did a dual light conversion. And it looks really good. Kinda like an early GSXR.

I've often asked the same question. Pre-98s have that "Cyclops" thing going. Modern Kats look as if they're using binoculars.

Let us know if the vinyl thing works. I wouldn't mind something different just for a change of pace.

notec is dead right!!!...but I'm not the member who has done it....BUT...

I have been in the sign/vinyl/graphics buisness over ten years and I'm currently doing side jobs now to start my own buisness. You will have to cover the light with a darker color first and then lay the color you want over that.

If you have never applied vinyl before I suggest you get someone who knows how to do it for you. Also make sure you use a premium high performance vinyl. It helps for sun fade and over all use.

You can use the base of something round to cut out your circles. Make sure the second layer is identicle. I would use a freshly sharp exacto to cut around your circle....over both layers at the same time to give your circles the exact same placement. Make sure you place the circles in the center of the vinyl piece so that the edges of the piece your working with go beyond the edges of the lamp. Then trim off the eccess after applying.

You can pick up vinyl at your local sign shop. Most shops will let you buy a few yards from them...this way you can practice if you want. Also have them tranfer tape each piece. Like window tint i suggest wetting the area and the vinyl until it is dripping with a hand soap/water combo before applying......considering that your not applying to a flat surface. This will give you the option to slide the piece around a bit if it is not centered.

Like i said if you do this yourself spend the extra couple bucs on a couple yards of each color in case you goof! Lay your first piece let it dry lay your second piece matching up the circles, let it dry and then trim. Pop any bubbles out the same way you might a blister from the side and rub flat from one side to the other, pushing the air out.

Use a plastic hard sqweegy but wrap a piece of shirt around it a couple times then tape it. This way it is hard/soft and won't scratch anything. The sign shop might throw a sqweegy in for ya if you ask.

Take your time be an artist.

Incase you already knew how...... maybe someone else can learn something here......I might put the Suzuki S on my lamp or something cool like that!!!!! just an idea....reverse weeded of coarse.

I will be informing the board of my new buisness and will be looking into doing fairing graphics for members cheap...

peace!!! soon to be 1shot signs llc...the name is registered don't bother and it's also on my bike plate 1shot..
