heel plates

can you put heel plates from a 98+ on a pre 98 kat. I'm not even sure what the purpose of the heel plate is, but I say some cool looking ones on e-bay for the 98+ and I was wondering if I could put them on my pre 98. Thanks

They don't directly bolt-on. I mess around with a pair, but they really didn't see a way to fit them with the lines on the bike. Looked kinda awkward so I gave up.
