  • JC Whitney fairings

i was just wondering if anyone has ordered fairings from JC Whitney, They carry all the fairings for the kat, but I was wondering if they actually look like the stock fairings? Anyone have any info?

Those are Maier fairings , and they're undrilled , flat black "ready to be painted" fairings . Also , I've heard that they're cheaply constructed (really thin and flimsy) , and are hard to fit .

Yeah I wouldn't waste my money on them. I would spend the money at the dealer to get them. Yes you can still get them from the dealer. Also go look on ebay. There are alot of pre 98 parts on there right now. The 600/750 pre 98's use the same front and lower fairings. the only thing that is different is the tail pieces. What parts are you looking for?

I need everything but the tail fairings. There is a auction ending on ebay today for the complete belly pan. so I'll hopefully pick that up. The fairings at the dealer are like 350 a peice. I guess I'll just keep looking on Ebay. Are the Maier really that bad?

Yeah they are b/c you have to drill everything. I have the Maier right side bellypan and it does not match my other side, but I do not need it anyway.

I would try Special K to see if he has any OE replacement. It doesn't matter what you get it will need atleast painted. I don't like buying much from JC Witney, they have poorly made parts and that is why they can sell them so cheap.

JC whitney used to be really quite good, have solid reliable products, etc..they've just seem to go downhill over the years, in quality and custom. service.

I have asked Special K about fairings before. As a matter of fact I just sent him a money order for the belly pan, but he doesn't have main fairings. At least not the last time I asked. And they only show up on ebay every so often and it's always when I'm broke.
