  • Rotary or not?

I was browsing the web and found an article on Rotary steering dampners.
Interesting, could I get one for my bike, the pre98 or maybe mod one on.
I thought of moding on a GSXR dampner but not a rotary.

    Why?

You could mount a rotary damper on a Kat, but you'd have to fabricate a custom bracket for it.

Why though? A Kat isn't prone to head shake so long as your bearings aren't shot.

Save your money or upgrade your suspension instead.

      Yeah I would agree,
      The GSXR needed it..
However if you want the look find a knackered one then gut it

On stock Kat I would agree but if you mod the frontend and that mod changes the rake. Will that be more proun to shake at all

Well you have rake and trail..
Trail is going to head shke more than rake..
Think of a shopping cart wheel.. they have - trail.
Trail can be a function of rake.
          Are you changing front ends?
The offset is what effects trail..

I think a standard liner dampner would be easier to fit..

Well, if you're going to buy a damper, I do recommend a Scotts rotary. Nicest thing about a rotary is that you can move it from bike to bike, with just buying a different mounting bracket.
