My Cordless power drill works just fine when I put the allen head in it and use it to take out the screws.

DZUS fasteners are great. Where they'd be convenient is for the belly pan on the Kat.

I use them on my track plastics on my Gixxer. Definitely faster than allen head screws.

Those are the same thing that hold on the most of the panels on a C-130 that have to be removed alot. I hate the falt head ones. The cross points work alot better. Now I can go get a hold bunch of these for FREE and the plates that they go into.

I found a bad way to get them to quick release or should I say a friend did.

We use those for the body on our race car, they are pretty sweet as long as all the holes line up well. The flat head ones work well with pennies, or nickels, I can't remember. They require a bit of work to install though, at least the ones I've worked with ( have to rivet them in).

We used them on our pro stock trans-am and the pro street drag bike back in the day. The nickle works the best, it is stronger than a penny, but both will work. It is worth the work for someone that installs and removes the body parts alot.

Belive it or not, anytime you see these types of slotted screws on Japanese equipment, battery covers on cameras for example,
they are designed for a 1 yen coin. I wouldn't be surprised if they are
matched to the country of origin. 1 lire coin on Ducatis???
That may explain why neither a nickel or a penny is exactly right.
The ones for the C130 come with a $500 hand driver right?

If you check with your local fastener supply firm, they can find you the Druz fasteners with the D-rings -- no slot, just grab the D-ring and give it a quarter turn to unbuckle. They rattle more and tend to rub the paint if not sized so as to only overlap the head, but it's faster, easier.

                        Cheers
