  • whats the biggest front sprocket I can go with?

I ride a 95 kat 600 and the guy i bought it off of had a freaking 11tooth front sprocket on it...

Pulled like a demon but gas mileage was terrible.

Everyone talks about going down down up front, but I really need a touring set up for longer rides (as i plan on riding to deals gap this year) .

    Thanks for any input.

11t!?! How'd the chain not snap? That's gotta strain the heck out of it.
Going bigger than standard size requires modding the cover a bit. I'm running a 42t rear on my 600, helps a bit and is easier. Check out gearingcommander.com so see what size sprockets give you what rpms.

Stock 14 is always recommended but, with minor grinding, a 15 will fit.

Sprockets are the ceap part, it is the chain that is costly.
