  • Sprocket and chain help.

    I just need to know what is the stock sizes of the chain and sprockets on a 1994 kat 600 I have looked everywhere and I can't find the specs.
    Sorry if this is a dumb question I just need help.

    Stock can be either 15/47 or 14/45. People seem to have come up with both. I had 15/47 stock on my 92 but I know alot of people with 14/45

      Thank you very much I can use a 520 chain with those sizes or does it have to be a 530?

        There are 520 conversions out there easy to find. I personally kept 530 because I didnt see the point of getting a 520 conversion... What are you gonna do .. try an save weight? There is hardly any weight saved with this conversion, talk to gsxfjim he's the man that can hook you up.

            Any weight savings you get by switching are so small it's not worth it, and there are no performance gains either.
            You will get longer life out of the 530 if properly cared for. 15/47 is a good choice, with a good o or x ring chain will give you a good combination. Check the KR store for the 15/47 set.
