  • What size chain

I have tried the search and did not get the answer I was looking for and I am having trouble opening my manual (adobe is doing something funky). I have a simple question. I need to get a new chain for my stock 1995 Katana 600. What size is the chain. I see all sizes of chains on ebay that say they fit this year. Is it a 530 X 118, 530 X 120 or what. Please let me know. Thanks.

Stock is 530, with 118 links. You should always replace sprockets and chain at the same time to gaurantee uniform wear.

      Chain

Thanks. I was pretty sure it was a 530 by 118 but wanted to make sure.

**Bumping instead of starting a new thread

I have a post 600 with a stock setup of 15/47. If I were to go to 15/50 how do I find out how many more links that would add?

Motorcycle speed and sprocket calculator with bike database for gearing, sprockets, tires and chains of over 1900 bikes. Request yours to be added as well.

thought with 15/50 you should still probably be okay with 118 links

That's what I use but I wasn't sure if it updated the links required.

15 - 50 will give you a 3.33 to 1 ratio. You can run 14 - 48 and get a 3.42 ratio and get a better acceleration and still have an ok top end.
