Will any non-katana wheels fit the pre98?

Well I did a search but couldn't find anything, I know others have thought of this. I want to get some new wheels for my pre98. Nothing extreme, just maybe the width of the post98's, but I want to know if there are other options, such as from other makes/models. If I could I would just pick up junkyard rims and start trying them, but my wallet won't allow that. Anyone know of other ideas?

I had a Honda CBR600 F2 sitting in my garage for a while. If I rmeber correctly, it was a 4.5" like the 98+ but I recall the axle diameter being larger. I'm sure with a bearing swap and some spacers you could probably make those work. (good place to start anyway in your research).

If I recall correctly, Bandit 600 (01 - 04) and SV650 wheels are the same as the 98+ Kat wheels... A quick peek at RonAyers.com for part numbers will tell you for sure.
