  • Getting a new front tire...one question

I buy most of my tires through ron ayers...but came across this.
I am looking to get a 120/70/17, yet the one they have listed, states Buell Front right next to it.

What does this mean? Can i still get this tire if I dont have a Buell?

    thanks!

Probably an OEM compound for Buell. Like, the Diablo T's for Triumphs... They'd fit and work, just have a different compound than the standards.

Special tread, reinforced or compound tires exist for certain bikes. For example, the Metzeler Z4 150/70ZR17 was available in standard, plus a special version for BMW 1150RS (reinforced sidewalls) and for FJR's (ditto, plus slightly thicker tread & slightly different tread pattern). The buell specialty version is obviously what's being offered.

      Cheers

          Yep...If you're considering a Metzeler Z6, you may also notice that there's an 'A' and 'B' load tire.....the 'B' has a higher load rating.

I just bought a Z6 for the front, and it has the 'B' rating - to 520 pounds. I figured the Katana is a fairly heavy bike, so the B seemed more appropriate.
