  • Tire question again

    Hi,
sorry to bother again with this question, but I need a precise answer. (Sorry on my English, I'm from Croatia, Europe). I saw a lots of yours posts about tire dimensions but you were talking only about tire width, but not about profile. So, my question is: I have GSX750F (2004) with OEM 120/70 ZR 17 and 150/70 ZR 17, but soon I have to replace these tires and I want some widther rear tire. Which combination is the best:
    120/60 and 160/60
    120/70 and 160/70
    120/70 and 160/60

    Any suggestions?

I would keep the front with the stock 120/70. If you want to go larger in the back, you can go up to 170/60/17. That is what I have on mine, and it is very wide.

If you want wider, use a 160/60ZR17 rear. The difference in sidewall height will help compensate for the difference in the arc size height. Using a 160/70ZR17 will enlarge the tire size too much (it may impact the underside of the seat area when the rear suspension is heavily compressed).

Not all brands of 170/60ZR17's will fit the clearance space, and it is an unsafe width to mount on a 4.5" rear wheel unless the manufacturer specifically made it to fit that wheel.

      Good Luck!
