Whatever happened to Michelin??? Pilot Sports are sticky and last a reasonable amount of time. My Pilot POwer on the front just went through some rigorous road testing up on Mt. palomar and I can tell you that they STICK!!! I have no chicken strips left on them and the poor little Rollo (Michelin Man) is all but ground off. For us SoCaler's I heartily recommend the Powers!!!
I've ridden Metzlers and Bridgestones, now I'll try Dunlops. Michelins will have to wait another 5000 miles. I love the little Rollo Man, but he doesn't love my wallet as much as I do.

Tom...I suggest you reconsider...I have the 218's on my ZX-10R and comparatively speaking, they stink...I just ordered Michelin Power Pilots...a bit more expensive than Diablo's but rave reviews from those who have used them...there are guys on the ZX-10R forum who will sell you a set of Dunlops for $100 with hardly any wear on them...

          Personally, I hate Dunlops...

If you do sport touring, as I just suspect one bought a 'Busa to do, I would stongly consider the Metzler Z6 or Bridgestone BT020...

If you ride a lot of highway (no idea if you do or not) Pilot Powers would square way too easily. As would Diablo Corsas, BT014s, or any other SS tire. Even regular Diablos wouldn't get much life due to center wear...

Welcome to the world of bikes with torque, by the way. You will most likely get about 60% of the milage you used to on your Kat. Torque shreds tires...

I've got Metzlers on the Kat and they're great. My (ex) brother-in-law swears by the Dunlops on his Gixx 1000. I'll give them a try.

You're right Steve, I don't expect to get anywhere near the milage I got on the Kat so I figure if I don't like them, it won't be too long before I get to replace them.

            Oh and Steve (Older Guy),
I'm sure take-offs are great. But after almost two months of "post ArmorAll fear" I welcome the refreshing feeling of confidence that comes from newly scuffed up NEW tires.

I'm tellin' ya that those Power's are simply awesome. I can't see any discernable wear (well maybe a little on the sides) after three weeks of canyons and 82 miles per day commute to and from work. I never felt any slipping even under hard braking and hard loading (downhill on Palomar) from them. My front 120/70/17 was only $108.00 so they aren't that expensive. In fact here in San Diego, they are cheaper than the Sports. Go figure??? Anyhow, once the Road on the back wears out, it's a Power back there too.

Hey Tom, I got a flat yesterday too. Unforntunatly mine happened while on the freeway instead of noticing it in the parking lot. I've had the 208's before on my 1100, and I wasn't all that impressed with them. I just ordered some diablos to replace my stock d218's. Heard a lot of good about them.

It went flat on me coming home from ACH. I was getting on the 605 from the 210. Scared the bejebus outta me. A nail or something must've gone all the way through cuz there were 2 puncture marks near each other, one in the side wall and the other in the tread area.

Metzler Roadtech Z6. Far better than the Dunlops I've been running in my opinion. I got good mileage out the Dulops but they do tend to cup out.

I should hope not... that's only about 1200 - 1500 miles, just enough to scuff them in properly

                              Cheers
