  • Plugging a tire

How many people have did it. How long have the tires went, and most importantly who had bad experiences with plugging a tire????

Did it a couple of times in the past. Usually just to get me home....carefully. Rode on one for about 500 miles with no trouble tho....

Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a
mistake when you make it again.

I'm cheap, but still plug to get home than change the tire. I have gone around approx 500 miles on a patched tubeless front tire.

I had to plug my rear tire in two places (same time) about three weeks ago. The tire only had about 1500miles on it and I cannot afford a new one right now, so I've been riding on a plugged tire since then. It has held up fine and despite checking the air pressure every ride, its not losing any air...and I ride EVERY day.

Depends on who you talk to . I have a hard time trusting a plugged tire , but I've also sold a few punctured tires really cheap lately to guys who don't care , one of whom rides the HELL outta his bike on plugged tires with no problem .
