  • Michelin Road 5 vs. Metzeler Roadtec 01 in PNW

Sorry if this question has been asked before...I did google it, but got very little in the way of definitive answers.
    Question is:
For the Pacific Northwest (I live in Tacoma), where it is drizzly nearly year round and temperatures are usually quite cool, what is the best tire to go for? I have narrowed it down by several criteria to the Michelin Road 5 and the Metzeler Roadtec 01.
Criteria are safety (especially in wet), mileage, cost. in that order, and I'm not planning on going fast.
I've seen plenty of favorable reviews for EACH tire, but there does not seem to be anyone who has reviewed BOTH. Has anyone tried both tires and can give a head to head comparison?
Sounds to me like the Michelin is the older model line and is trusted and hence has a slightly higher price, while the Metzeler model is newer and hence a slightly lower cost, but both tires seem constructed for the same goals, and both have loyal followings.
    please and thank you.
