  • Substituting a 120/60/17 for a 120/70/17

Is substituting a 120/60/17 for a 120/70/17 a reasonable idea? The reason I ask is 120/70/17 is stock size for a ducati rim I'm using on a project bike and I need a new tire. Found an almost brand new tire in the brand and model I want but it's a 120/60/17. Best Part is it's only $40

Will the profile difference between the 60/70 be that noticeable?

It drops the profile down a little. The 120/70/17 is 23.90 and the 120/60/17 is around 22.90. These are overall Hieght/width/ circumference. There is a formual for it but I do not know it. I had a friend of mine figure out the difference for me. The 120/60 is a little shorter and wider. It will make the bike turn in quicker. Other than that I have not notice any differences at all.

Thats kind of what I had figured. Since it would be going on the bike that is solely meant for twisties I don't think it'll be a problem

As long as you can afford to lose about 1/2 inch of ground clearance, it will work wonderfully for your intended use.
